BARBERA: For all you true Italian Wine Lovers! Medium body with smooth, silky notes of cherry, cranberry & a hint of spice; this wine is ideal for early consumption. This is your wine if you like Merlot, Malbec or Pinot Noir.
Barbera is known for it's higher acidity and lower tannins, and is a very approachable wine that can easily be enjoyed with or without food.
PINOT GRIGIO VERDUZZO: This wine has beautiful touches of fresh citrus, & pear with a hint of pineapple. Dry & crisp, this wine has a clean finish. If you love your Pinot Gris, Pinot Grigio & easy drinking, dry whites - this wine is for you!
This unofficial 'super venetian' white is a blend of the vibrancy of Pinot Grigio complemented by the honeyed note of Verduzzo. The zesty freshness and acidity is balanced by rounded tropical fruit flavors and a bit of nuttiness. This is a Pinot Grigio with a pop!
MOSAIC RED (Merlot/Zinfandel/Petit Syrah/Cabernet Sauvignon): A juicy blend that will please all palates; a lovely mix of red & black fruits with a smooth finish. All you Cab/Merlot & red blend fanatics, this is a gem for your cellar.
Like a true mosaic, the varietals in this wine each contribute their individual personality to create a harmonious blend. Merlot & Zinfandel bring round fruit notes while Petit Syrah and Cab Sauv provide structure and complexity. What a treat!
GEWURZTRAMINER VERDELHO MUSCAT: This Australian blend is for all you off-dry white wine lovers. No aging required! If you were a fanatic about our German Riesling last year, or our Pacific Quartet the year prior, this beautiful white is a must have.
The trio of grapes that make up this wine are as distinctive as the blend itself. The wonderfully floral Gewurztraminer headlines as Verdelho's tropical fruit characteristics play off of Muscat's infamous grapey flavor, making this wine refreshingly fun to drink.
FOURTITUDE (Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc/Malbec/Merlot): The BIG one. The addition of crushed grape skins help make this blend the biggest and boldest of this year's LE's. A rich, intense, mouth-filling wine with a long dry finish. A must for oak barrel aging! This powerful blend showcases the quality and richness of the grapes from southern Australia.
LE15 PRE-ORDER DEADLINE: DECEMBER 4th!
What is LE15?
Each year, Winexpert produces a limited number of exclusive 8-week wine kits. Released on a monthly basis beginning in January, there are three reds and two whites to choose from. In addition to their limited availability, there are a number of other factors that make these wines so exceptional: they can range from unique blends to hot industry trends to rare, hard to obtain and sought after varietals and regions. The main thing to note is that these wines are produced in limited quantity and are available by pre-order only.
